Child Care Update: January 2005
Meet Two Of Our New Commissioners!

Linda Ross, a teacher in the Newton Public Schools since 1989, joined the Child Care Commission in the Fall of 2004. She is currently a teacher at the Underwood Elementary School. She is a graduate of Fitchburg State College with degrees in Special Education and Elementary Education. She has been a Newton resident since she was 12 years old and is herself a graduate of Newton North High School. She is the school department representativeon the commission.
Linda, her husband and three children, Craig, Jr. & John who attend elementary school and Emma who attends preschool, live in Newton.

Melissa Hanenberger is a recent arrival to Newton, having moved here from New Jersey last July. She joined the commission in November, 2004. Melissa comes to us with a wealth of educational experience with a B.A. in Psychology from Princeton University; an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and a M.Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education in Administration, Planning and Social Policy. Her work experience has had her involved in school systems as a teacher, guidance counselor and assistant principal. She is a parent representative on the commission.
Melissa, her husband and two children, Lukas 4 years old and Claudia, 18 months old, live in Newton.
