Welcome to the Newton Child Care Commission and Fund's Website !This site contains a wealth of information and resources for parents and providers alike. Whether you live in Newton, work in Newton or are considering moving to Newton, chances are you can find what you need on this website! For parents, there are lists of different types of licensed child care providers located within the City of Newton, as well as tips (see our "Frequently Asked Questions") and a checklist (which opens in a new window) that will help you find a program that meets your child and family's needs. We also provide information on child care tuition assistance and scholarship availability, links to other resources and other programs which are facilitated by the Newton Child Care Commission. For providers there is information on training and support groups offered throughout the year by the Commission, the Newton Early Childhood Association and the Newton Family Child Care Association. Mission StatementThe Newton Child Care Commission's mission is to facilitate the development of and access to quality child care for the Newton community. The Commission serves as a resource for parents to identify and evaluate child care programs that meet their unique needs and is available to child care providers as a resource for trends and policies in the community. Finally, the charge of the Commission is to review, establish and advocate for priorities and policies concerning the full range of child care, from infant, toddler, preschool programs to programs serving school age children. For a more detailed description and history of the Newton Child Care Commission, see the Who We Are page on this website. Some web browsers allow you to reduce the size of pages that are printed. You may want to see if your browser (such as Safari or Internet Explorer) will allow you to do this before you print pages from this site, such as provider lists or applications. To see if you can change these settings, pull down the "File" menu, and select "Page Setup...". A dialog box will appear with options for paper size, orientation, etc. If there is an option to "Reduce or Enlarge" with a percentage value in a box, you can lower the number to less than 100% (say 85%) so that the webpage will fit on the sheet of paper better. If this option is not available, and you have trouble fitting the webpage on a single page width, you can change the orientation to "Landscape" and reduce the left and right margins to fit more of the webpage on the sheet of paper.
